Brief Description: Measure/Drill Bottom Skins; Bolt Tank Br
As if today wasn't already long enough I decided to tackle a couple of more items. I measured 3" back from the marks on the bottom of the wing skins and match drilled the fuselage bottom skins to the wing bottom skins. These holes will be dimpled, nutplates installed, and then screwed together. I also decided to bolt the fuel tank brackets to the fuselage. This was a bit challenging given how tight it was getting a wrench on the bolts/nuts on the inside of the fuselage between the attach angles. I was a little worried about how well the fuselage brackets would align with the brackets on the tanks given that I had pre-drilled the fuselage brackets even though the plans said to wait until now. Everything turned out fine. The faces of each bracket were perfectly flush against each other. I'll drill and bolt them together tomorrow. I'm beat!
