Brief Description: Fabricate the Tie Down Assemblies
I countersunk the tie down spacers today and then tapped the threads for the tie down eye bolts. This wasn't hard but I was nervous about it. This was my first time tapping anything. I had to work slowly and back out the tap several times in order to clean out the aluminum filings. Since the aluminum is so soft it really didn't take much to cut the threads but it really wasn't a good feeling thinking I was cross-threading the tap each time I backed it out and in again - it kind of makes me wonder how stong just 1" of threads really are in soft Aluminum. Strength in numbers I guess. Ready for priming!
