Brief Description: Unmask/Store Vert Stab; Rage/Sand/Mask Rudder
Today I removed all of the tape and paper from the vertical stabilizer and dusted off the aluminum and sat back and admired how the tip turned out. Not bad for a newbie fiberglass guy!Next I mixed up another batch of Evercoad Rage and filled in the right side of the rudder tips. Ten minutes later I was able to sand the tips. I wish I could say it only took 10 minutes to sand but it really didn't take too long to get everything perfectly smooth. I used 150 grit followed by 320 grit sandpaper and spent the most time trying to get a perfectly smooth transition from the fiberglass to the aluminum. Once all of the sanding was done I vacuumed all of the fiberglass, which exposed all of the pinholes, cleaned everything with Acetone and masked off the areas that I don't want primed.
