Brief Description: Rivet Left Spar to Hinge, Ribs, & Skins
The next thing that I did was use the dremel tool to remove 3 hinge loops from the center of each hinge. This will allow me to cut the piano hinge pin in two and insert each half from the center of the flap since there won't be room from either end since the fuselage will be in the way on one end and the ailerons will be in the way on the other end. Once this was done, I clecoed the left spar and hinge in place and used the pneumatic squeezer to set the rivets along the bottom. I had to use a special extented flush set to reach around the loops in the hinge. The next thing that I did was shoot and buck the rivets along the top of the spar to the top skin. The final thing that was done was to rivet the spar to the ribs. This was done using blind rivets. This was rather difficult because of the curved top skin. It was tough getting the puller in there. Basically I just duct taped the skin and spar to prevent scratches and then muscled the puller in there to set these blind rivets. It all turned out very well. The left flap is complete.
