Brief Description:  Pro-Seal and Rivet All Fuel Tank Ribs

Prior to squeezing the rivets along the two end ribs, a couple of things had to be done. The fuel vent line and the capacitance plates for the fuel level sender had to be installed. This wasn't too difficult but I think on the right tank I will install these and the 2 end ribs several days after the inner ribs have had time to cure. It was very messy on the arms, ribs, capacitance plates, vent tubing, etc. reaching in and installing everything while the proseal was still wet on the ribs. This would have been a lot less messy if I had waited. The reason I didn't was because I still needed Matt's help with riveting the reinforcement plates and attach angle to the tips of the two end ribs. This had to be done after the ribs were riveted to the skin since there would not be room to sqeeze or shoot the rib-to-skin rivets at the tips with the plates already installed. So, although I could squeeze all of the rivets to install the 2 end ribs myself, I needed Matt's help to shoot/buck the AN470-4 rivets for the reinforcement plates at the tip. This was also very messy reaching in with a bucking bar and would have been easier if I had waited for the proseal along the inner ribs and stiffeners to completely cure first. It feels GREAT to have everything done with the exception of installing the baffle! Unfortunately, that will have to wait until I get another can of proseal from Van's. Now I know I used too much proseal. I couldn't even finish one tank with my first can. The manual says some builders finish both tanks with a single can. Maybe. But it would have to be applied VERY lightly to reach that far. I wouldn't be confident that everything would seal and last with such a small amount. On the other hand, one can should have been sufficient for one tank. I went overboard the other direction. Oh well, I'm sure I'll use less and have less waste on the right tank.
