Brief Description:  Solder Wire to BNC Connector

I made a trip to Radio Shack and picked up a new 25 watt soldering iron, some 67/33 solder and flux, and tried my hand at soldering. I had to spend some time on the internet learning the process. First, after stripping one end of a 15" 18 guage wire, I dabbed some flux on the stranded wire. I also put a little flux in the solder trough of the BNC connector. The next step was to heat the wire and melt some solder onto the wire. The same was done to the BNC connector - it was heated and a small amount of solder was melted into the trough. The final step was to place the wire into the trough and heat the entire assembly until the solder on the wire and in the trough melted allowing the wire to slide down and bottom out in the connector. The heat was then immediately removed and that was it. Looks pretty solid and professional to me, especially for my first time soldering. The other thing that I did was notch the inside ring of 4 snap bushings. These will be used to hold the fuel vent line and the notches are needed to also hold the wire that is used to connect the capacitance plates.
