Brief Description: Drill Stiffeners / Fuel Cap to Skin
Next up was clamping and drilling the stiffeners to the bottom of the tank. Once this was done, the stiffeners were deburred, dimpled, and moved to the lower shelf of the workbench. The next step was to center the fuel cap / flange to the skin, clamp it in place and drill the flange using the prepunched holes in the skin. This was difficult because of the slight bend in the fuel cap flange that needed to be eyeball-aligned to the curvature of the skin. Also, the flange had to be centered under the filler hole. I kept the cap in the flange which made this process a little easier.
