Brief Description: Ream New Nose Gear Leg to 0.311
I picked up my new nose gear leg from the powder coating shop today. They did a nice job but the color is a bit whiter than the coating on the other steel parts from Van's. It really doesn't matter since the legs will be covered with fairings. I doubt anyone would even notice the difference in shades given the distance between the nose gear leg and the main gear legs. The important thing is corrosion protection.
Before I could mount the new leg back into the engine mount I had to ream the pre-drilled hole on the upper end of the leg to 0.311 for the AN5 bolt that will be used to secure the leg to the engine mount. I used plenty of boelube while reaming.
