Brief Description:  Seal Firewall Recess with High-Temp RTV

The first picture below shows how much larger the hole in the firewall was versus the hole needed for the vent. The hole needed to be 2" and I used a 2" Greenlee electrical conduit punch but this actually created a 2-1/4" hole so a 2" conduit can fit. I didn't realize the punch was larger than it was marked. As it turned out, this was not a problem. The actual vent was large enough to cover the larger hole in the firewall.Once the vent was sealed and bolted in place I used the high-temp RTV to seal the corners and gaps of the firewall recess.
