Today I did some more trimming on the right wing tip. I used a dremel cutoff wheel to make the final cuts around the aileron. Then I used a hack saw to slice open the trailing edge about 6" or so. My hope was that by doing this I would be able to make the aft surface of the wing tip flush with the top of the aileron. I didn't want to slice open the trailing edge too much so after making about a 6" cut I decided to cleco the wing tip back on to see if I needed to go any further.
Unfortunately there still wasn't enough flexibility to align the top surface of the wing tip to the aileron so I started to remove the wing tip by removing just the bottom clecoes first and made a discovery...
