Brief Description: Top Skin Access Panels - Drill Reinforcement Rings
Today I decided to start working on the access panels in the top skin again. I want to have access to the avionics from above rather than having to lay on my back in the cabin and work from underneath.
The first thing I did was lay out a rivet pattern for the reinforcement rings. I decided to go with 2 rows of staggered rivets all the way around. I clamped the 2 rings together and drilled them both at the same time. I then aligned and clamped the rings to the cutouts and match drilled the rivet holes in the top skin.
Once all the drilling was done I deburred everything and dimpled the top skin.
