Brief Description: Rewired strobe shielded wires to ground
I recently met with my EAA tech advisor and he recommended I include pictures of me doing all the work on my RV-7A; so from now on I will be in more of the construction log pics. I have taken several months reviewing all the wiring and avionics installation manuals. In this review, I learned that all "Shields" in shielded wires need to be grounded at the "Power-Source" and left "Open" at the "Load" end of the circuit. The Whelan strobes have two power sources...one for the strobe control power-in and one for each of the loads (strobe lights) in the wings and tail. These pictures show me bonding the shield to ground at the power source for the loads. The shield is cut flush and not grounded where it terminates at the actual strobe light.
