Tonight a lot of pieces came into place--literally and figuratively--regarding the rudder and brake system. I carefully located and mounted the brake cylinders and then temporarily attached the brake pedals. I'm sure I should have figured this out before, but the mounting location for the cylinders produces a parallel geometry between the rudder and the brake cylinder mounted behind it. So whether the rudder is full forward or full aft, the brake pedal remains essentially vertical. Now it becomes clear what other builders were saying about the location of the rudder pedals. There are two adjustments available: the place where they are mounted on the floor and the angle that one places them when they are rigged for neutral control. Perhaps the only advantage to moving them forward on the floor is that is gets the floor-level hardware further from the pilot, giving more room for the feet under the pedals. Since the plane flies quite well without the rudders, I expect that my feet will be flat on the ground most of the time. Ready to rivet brake pedals soon.
