Brief Description: Made lower rudder hinge parts and began assembly
For anyone following my progress, I have obviously been missing in action. Right after my last post in early February, I started a three-week blitz of almost non-stop travel for work. Immediately after that, I injured my back and ended up flat on my back for a full week. This last week I've been really careful to protect my back and rest it whenever possible. Today seemed like the time to get back on track, and it felt really good to be in the shop again. During my break from building, I did get replacement parts from Tom Henderson. Unfortunately, the two major parts were part blanks only (no shaping or holes) AND they were undersized relative to the plans. That flipped the switch in my head, and put me back in scratch-building mode. While I'm not happy to have parts that I've paid for that aren't acceptable, I'm very glad to have the sklls to build whatever I need. Actually the parts I fabricated came out great and I'm now able to tweak them as needed.
