Brief Description: Labeled cockpit wires and started switch wiring
Since my last session in the shop, I have probably spent 30 hours completing CAD drawings of each panel switch circuit. This required a fair amount of research, plus the time to generate each drawing. My intent is to have a complete wire book at the same time that I finish my project. If I don't do it concurrently, I'm concerned that it won't get done. More than half my time today was spent going back to the cockpit and labeling a whole bunch of wires that terminate behind the panel area. These had my coded labels (like F-2P, M-1P, etc.), but that required me to look up each wire in my wire book. Now that I have this PC-controlled laminated label maker, I'm able to produce verbose labels that I can actually read and understand on the spot. Next I brought the panel into the kitchen (thank you Joy) and inverted it with the center support/fuse blocks attached. This now allows me to make final attachments for all the panel switch and harness wires with easy access. Tonight I completed wiring the two DC plugs, the master switch and the endurance buss alternate switch. Not a bad day's work.
