Brief Description:  Punch list items

It is getting to be difficult to categorize what I do on my trips to the hangar, because I'm just knocking off items from my punch list. That can make the tasks very random. Tonight is a good example. I started by fishing out a control cable rigging shackle that fell into the horizontal tail area at the rear of the airplane. If it remained there, I knew it would rattle whenever the engine was running. Unfortunately, access is extremely limited. I used an optical scope to see where it was and then lowered a couple of snake eye magnets in a small bag to recover it. I also retrieved three rivet mandrels while I was at it. Next I had to drill and install a cotter pin in the cable clamping mechanism on the mixture control. My final job was connecting some 18 gauge wire to each fuel sender and then routing it to the RDAC unit on the engine side of the firewall. I just have a bit of wire management to do tomorrow. The most important thing that happened was when Steve Glover, my hangar mate, came by and agreed to be the pilot for the first flight of N819P. He is a very versatile and skilled pilot who will take all the necessary precautions when the day comes. When I asked William Wynne who he would recommend, Steve was hands down his first choice. How convenient as well.
