After cutting out the lightening holes, I couldn't resist weighing them. The stack of aluminum weighed 2 lbs. 2.6 ozs. Regarding technique, I know there is a stigma about fly cutters, but I must say I am a fan. I was drilling so many holes today that I switched from the cordless drill to my hand-held power drill and experienced no significant difficulties. I must say that I prefer the cordless because it has a clutch which I set to slip when it catches. If you don't have a clutch, just be sure to keep things level and go light on pressure.
Over two pounds that I won't be dragging through the air
