Brief Description:  Completed & installed heat muff

Today started with a quick trip to Lowe's to get a 1.5" hole saw from Lenox. BTW, these are quite good, even on SS if you keep it lubricated. The long story made short is that I made end caps that were centered around the exhaust pipe and put everything together, only to discover that doing so put it right up against the engine mount. On a somewhat related note, my exhaust pipes on both sides have been barely touching the bottom of the fuselage at their point of exit, so I thought this would be a good time to pull them down a bit, hoping it might also produce enough clearance on the heat muff to salvage my work. The good news is that the pipes bent down quite nicely, thanks to my racheting strap wapped over the pipe and around the nose gear. Now I have approximately 1/2" gap where the exhaust pipes exit the engine compartment. On the other hand, it did not solve my clearance problem. Soooo, it was back to the shop for round two. Once completed, things fit perfectly, so I'm quite happy.
