Brief Description: Fabricated and installed center console
In case you didn't figure it out by now, my approach was not to rivet the fuselage at my first opportunity. Doing so, without dealing with a variety of small parts that attach to the fuselage would just mean more drilling and riveting through painted or primed surfaces, sometimes with limited access. My decision has been to tackle as many of the small add-ons as possible. It only means that I will be putting my fuselage on gear more quickly and ready to hang the engine. Tonight I made the center console as specified on the 650 plans. The only change I made was cosmetic. Instead of resting the bottom flange on top of the arm rest, I elected to nest it inside. I think it looks better, and it will allow me to put nutplates in the flange for securing the armrest.
