Brief Description:  A day of flying and odd jobs

I took a half day off to experience over-water flying to Catalina. From Torrance to the island is only 14 minutes and the view is spectacular. I took Ryan Ruel from The Airplane Factory (makers of the Sling LSA) and we enjoyed lunch on a beautiful day outdoors. Tonight when I got back to the shop I re-configured the Voyager to communicate with the V10 comm radio. I refilled the left brake system and did a preliminary check for leaks. I'll be watching that over the next few days. I removed the center panels by the rudder pedals to get wingnuts at McFadden-Dale Industrial Hardware tomorrow and then prep them for paint. It was time to reinstall the top skin access covers, but I've had a problem with one nutplate since the original installation. I tried several fixes but ultimately drilled it out and solid riveted in another. Not easy when the part is in place on the airplane. With that in done, it was easy to reattach the two access covers and call it a night.
