Brief Description:  1 - Mounted antennas and routed coax

I dove back in today, determined to make some material progress. My first task, however, was undoing a misstep from my last session. It seems I mounted the trim relay board directly in the path of the throttle cable. I removed it and will have to determine a new location. I've done a fair amount of research on antenna placement, including talking with the manufacturer and enlisting the help of other builders. It seems the efficiency of the transponder degrades fairly quickly as you lengthen the coax cable. According to the manufacturer, 3 feet is optimal. I managed to place my antenna under the front left side of the passenger seat with a coax run of 3 feet 7 inches. The comm antenna I chose was a bent tip model that extends back 16.5 inches from the center of the mount. Because I didn't want that to interfere with the belly access panel, I mounted it approximately one foot behind the main gear. The two antennas are about 3.5 feet apart and should not interfere with each other. To provide more pictures, I will continue this session on another log entry.
