I had a few minutes to spare this afternoon and decided to see if the afore mentioned fit between the two spar sections created the specified dihedral. Considering the vagaries in the flatness of the wood table and my ability to measure from the top of the table to the bottom of the spar - I'm saying it was virtually perfect. (The crossed-out measurements in the image below represent the improvement of measurement techniques as they were taken.)
