Brief Description:  Right lift strut bracket and door light install

Adding the lift strut bracket required removing the right door since the top bolt is under the rear hinge. I am using the Planearound billet bracket. A nice piece of work.

As is typical, one change creates a cascade of problems. The bracket blocks access to the hinge bolts. Modification to the bracket and cutting a small access panel into the overhead to get at the bolts I cut a wire to the door light. Fixing that bit-o-damage added an hour to the job.

I am adding lights to the doors that come on and light the wings at night when open. This requires a contact switch and wires in the door. I forgot to put wires into the doors before I closed them up. Using some baling wire and string I fished the wires through the door. I added the on/off limit type switch to the rear edge of the door so the light will come on when the door is opened (except when the override switch is on).

I fitted the Van's door seal to the edge of the door and checked that it did not interfere with the switch activation ... then it came off again. It won't get glued in position until the door edge outside of the seal is painted to the exterior base color. I also need to figure out a way to clean up the sharp corners where the seal is clipped to make the turn.

I plan on painting myself with Stewart Systems water based primer and finish coats. They are doing up some custom paint chips for me at this moment. So more later. I also need to paint the edge next to the window black as the interior wall finish will not cover all the way to the glass.
