Brief Description:  Rewired fuel boost pump circuit & potted stick.

Using the Infinity strick grips has caused a confusing array of wiring between each stick and the terminal blocks that connect each stick to the electrical system. I had already wired the fuel boost pump to a panel switch, but by having a fuel boost switch on each stick I needed to rewire the system.

The stick switch can only handle a 6A current while the panel switch can handle a 15A current. The answer to this problem was wiring in a relay and using 20AWG wires to parallel the stick switches with the panel switch to carry the current to ground through the relay coil. This allows any of the three switches to activate the fuel boost pump. All the switches do is ground the coil in the relay with a small current. The relay is wired to the Main Hot Battery Bus with 14AWG wire and passes a 10A to 15A load on pump startup but runs with about 5A. The relay has a diode crimped with the wiring across the coil to prevent contact erosion from the spike in voltage when a switch is opened.

Charlotte and I also potted the grip cable with silicone where it comes out the bottom of the pilot's stick to prevent movement and wear as it exits the stick. More wiring tomorrow on Labor Day!!
