Today I had to drill the same holes and cut the same slot on the stick as I did yesterday, but I also had to drill a hole just above the join line of the removable stick so that we can bring the stick wire cable out of the stick tube to run down the aft side of the join tube. The cable will be zip tied to the join tube. With the 16 pin Amp round connector, this will allow us to remove the stick and easily disconnect from the terminal block wiring.
The drilling and deburring didn't get any easier since yesterday! Keep your mind on the drilling unless you want to purchase a new stick. A V-shaped drill angle bolted to the drill press is a must. Luckily we made it through on the copilot's stick without messing up.
After installing the grip, we used a multimeter to do contiuity checks on all the grip switches on the pilot and copilt sticks to confirm their fucntions. Our sticks will have 6 switches:
1. Pitch and aileron trim with the China hat switch. 2. Push-to-talk with red trigger switch. 3. Flaps with the toggle switch. 4. Autopilot disconnect with the black push button switch. 5. Fuel boost pump with the blue push button switch. 6. Engine "Flight Start" (with start enable switch) green push button switch. May put a "Kill switch" on the copilot stick to disable all functions except PTT and trim.
