Brief Description:  Installed avionics fan and wired.

The fact that we live in Austin, Texas where the summers consist of many 100+ degree days prompted us to install an avionics fan. The Dynon EFIS's will blank out if they get too hot so I worry about the taxi to takeoff in the summer when there will be a lot of heat in the cockpit even with the canopy back. The AmeriKing fan only uses 0.46 amps with a 1A fuse. We wired it off the Main bus to the Avionics fan (on/off) switch at the top of the radio stack in the small panel that also contains the AP servo power switch, dimmer pot, and the LED warning lights.

We will add the hoses tomorrow after investing at Harbor Freight for unibit that will drill a 1" hole for some snap bushings. Home Depot wanted $40 for a single unibit while Habor Freight gives you two different sizes in a set for $15. Of course, the Home Depot tool may be worth the price. We'll find out after using the cheapos!!
