Brief Description:  Installed Aux battery contactor.

Tuesday I spent a couple of hours drilling the holes for the Aux battery contactor which will be installed on the FW inside the cockpit. I made a doubler out of 0.063 aluminum sheet to make the FW more stable since the contactor is a concentrated weight and would cause the FW to bend back and forth with vibration.

Today my brother Clark came over to help me rivet the doubler to the FW since Charlotte was out of the house for the day. The contactor is on the inside just below the pass-through near the Main battery. This allowed the connection to the main battery with a short cable. The connection to the Aux battery will take about three feet of 4AWG welding cable. Remember the Aux battery is on the centerline tunnel cover just below the FW heater vents. The Aux battery grounding cable will be about 1/1/2' to the Forest-of tabs which will be just above the Main battery but on the cockpit side of the FW.

Charlotte's back and it's time to BBQ some fish.
