Brief Description: Designed and purchased material for Aux Bat Box.
I spent all afternoon crawling in and out of the forward fuselage area making measurements and trying to decide how to install another Odyssey 680 battery between the rudder pedals over the centerline tunnel cover. I finally decided to use two holes already drilled ( #8 screws) through the tunnel floor stiffner angles (used to hold the tunnel cover) and then add two more holes just aft of the large firewall angles that connect to the engine mount. I called Vans to be sure that another two holes would be ok, and they said it would be fine. By using aluminum angle (1"x1"x1/8") I figured that I could construct an attachment that will hold an Odyssey battery box kit that I had already ordered from Vans.
I didn't have the angle, of course, therefore, I spent the rest of the afternoon locating and then driving to purchase the materials. Tomorrow I will cut and drill metal!
