Today we installed some items on the engine. I worked with frustration trying to install a 1/4" bolt that holds the #3 aft baffle to the side of the engine. The oil filler tube prevented a straight shot with a Phillips screw driver. Finally after a hour of trying different combinations of tools, I got it installed. Should have been easy but it wasn't. The #4 aft baffle had a spacer and bolt that also gave me a headache. Simple tasks but annoying to say the least! I also installed the air blast tube for the alternator which was easy, thank goodness. I made some circular aluminum washers that I used to cover the two spark plug extension wrench holes on the baffles.
Charlotte mixed up a batch of epoxy with low density filler, and then coated the nose gear and main gear to fuselage intersection fairings. We'll sand them tomorrow and install the nutplates to the inside of the fuselage that will hold them to the main gear leg fairings. We'll also try to make the tension rods that connect to the bottom of the cylinder baffle shrouds.
