Brief Description:  Wired magneto & P-Mag electronic ignition.

I have a Slick magneto with impulse coupling on the left and an electronic P-Mag ignition on the right. I wired the magneto with a shielded 18 AWG P-lead wire to the left ignition toggle switch and the P-Mag with non-shielded wires to the right ignition toggle switch. This required pulling wires and consumed a few days with all the starts and stops like buying another darn crimper for small ferrules.

The P-Mag has a control plug with six wires. The #1 wire is a ground to the engine case. The #2 wire is a jumper to #3 which sets the advance up to 34 degrees during cruise. The P-Mag will not allow a spark during ignition before TDC, therefore, no possible kickback during start (assuming one is starting with the P-Mag). The #4 wire is the P-lead wire to the toggle ignition switch which grounds the ignition off. The #5 wire brings the 12V power from the main bus through a 3A fuse which passes through a Test/Mx guarded toggle (On-Off) switch to the P-Mag. The #6 wire is for an electronic tach output which is wired to the Dynon D180 EMS.

We are going to Colorado Springs for a few days to visit Charlotte's cousins. No work on the project for a needed respite. I'll fab the P-Mag ignition wires when we return.
