Brief Description:  Finally, the canopy frame is welded.

The fellow, Skot, who welded my canopy frame called and said it was done. I'm sure it took him all of 30 minutes to gas weld those two 1/2" steel tubes together. I was expecting to pay about $60 since the sign in his office said the minimum fee was one hour of labor at $55 per hour. The office manager said that I would have to ask Skot, the owner, how much I owed. Skot came walking in from his office and I asked what I owed him. He said, nothing, all he wanted was a ride in the RV-7A when I finished. We went back to his office where he had a bunch of pictures on the walls of his Stearman. We stood around and told flying stories for about 45 minutes. I think I made another pilot friend who will get all my welding business. That's why I'm building this plane, so I can get back to the flying and associating with the flying people.

Charlotte left town to visit and help out her son and daughter-in-law who just had a knee replaced. I'll have to get my brother to come over and help with the canopy project.
