Brief Description:  Match drilled center cabin cover.

Having positioned the covers yesterday, we were ready to match drill the center cabin cover to the floor stiffeners. Here is where the rotisserie comes in very handy. All I had to do was rotate the fuselage 90 degrees and use my 90 degree air drill to get to the work to be done.

The manual warns about not pushing the center cover down too much or the angle stiffeners radius will push the cover flanges inward. I had some wood spacers on the cabin floor to prevent the problem. When I drilled the holes, I drilled with a #30 bit to make a pilot hole which I would later drill to final size (#19). Only 4 holes to drill and one would think it would be a snap, but the cover moves ever so slightly and its hard to be perfectly at 90 degrees when you drill through the 1/16" stiffener. To make a long story short, I had to elongate two of the holes in the stiffeners after drilling to final size to get the screws to line up for the nutplates. Oh well, so much for perfection. After disassembling, I bent the center cover louvers by hand using a piece of angle and clamp. We then deburred and scuffed to be ready to prime when we have a bigger batch.
