Brief Description:  Riveted and primed aileron push rods.

Saturday, I primed the insided of the rods using the Sherwin Williams P6G2 and reducer. I mixed 10 oz. and poured into the tubes and sloshed it around and back and forth. I had taped over the holes and plugged the ends of the large tubes. I held my finger over the ends of the steel tubes. I then set them on the driveway in the sun to dry (30 minutes).

Charlotte and I then used the vise to hold the steel pushrods while she riveted the rod ends and I bucked using the tungsten bar (worth the $120 I paid for it). The AN470AD4-12 rivets looked too long but worked ok to fill the holes on the steel tubes (not the normal flat surface). The blind rivets were easy using the Stanley hand pop rivet tool to rivet the rod ends to the large aluminum tubes.

I then scuffed some more and cleaned using acetone. I hung the pushrods from an oak tree in the front yard and reeled out 60' of air hose and primed them using my Harbor Freight HVLP spray gun. Job done.
