Brief Description:  Cut and flared fuel tube for left wing.

After searching the VAF forum for the length of the fuel tube from the fuselage to the tank fitting and taking measurements myself, I decided to cut the fuel tube to 3 1/2". There was just enough movement in and out while pulling the tube by hand that it would compensate for a 1/16" mismeasurement. With the tube cut and deburred it was time to flare the tube end.

No, I did not forget to put the sleeve and nut on before flaring the tube. If I had forgotten the sleeve and nut, I would have ordered flexible stainless steel covered fuel tubes from Bonaco, Inc. in California. I would not try to bend new tubes because it was so frustrating the first time around. Anyway, the tube was flared and fit perfectly. I called it a "wrap" on the left wing and my neighbor helped me carry it around to the back deck and store it in the cradle. The next time it comes out of the cradle is when it goes to a hangar.
