Brief Description:  Installed nutplates on wing for the fairing.

To finish the fairing job I had to install nutplates. The fuel tank #8 screw holes could be dimpled but the aft, top wing #8 screw holes and rivet holes had to be machine countersunk because of three layers of metal due to the extra 0.025 walkway piece under the skin for getting in and out of the plane. I used the hand squeezer for the riveting the nutplates after dimpling, countersinking, and deburring all the holes.

The rubber seal that lips onto the fairing is a tight seal against the fuselage. I used some soapy water to lubricate the seal as I pushed the fairing into place and installed clecoes. It is definitely a tight fit and I had to slightly trim the fairing by using the grinder. There were a couple of places that I did not quite have the 3/16" gap. The plans call for a 1/4" max and 3/16" minimum for the gap. Once I had the seal fitted and on, I removed it a scuffed up the inside surface and primed it with a self etching rattle can primer.
