Brief Description:  Reinstalled Aveo 6-in-1 wingtip light modules.

My warrantied Aveo 6-in-1 landing light modules arrived yesterday, so back to installing and rewiring them. The new modules came with a u-shaped attachment mount that wasn't available when I first ordered mine. I had waited for two years for this mounting fixture and finally gave up. It would have saved me 3 to4 weeks of designing and fabricating my own fiberglass fixtures. The new light module changed, and now has the wiring board attached to the back of the light. This prevented me from using the old cylinders that fit my fixture, so I installed the new attach mounts. This caused me to drill three more holes into the wingtip fiberglass face parallel to the wing ribs.

I designed a triangular plate with #6 nutplates that goes inside the wingtip face. The plates were glued using E6000 industrial adhesive. The new attach fixture allows for up and down as well as in and out adjustments of about 3-5 degrees. The Aveo dealer Howard Olson of Kestrel-Air in Tacoma, WA did a great job of getting the warrantied lights to me.

Tomorrow I'll rewire the lights to the wing end-rib terminal block.
