Brief Description:  Started designing a foam rib to strengthen fibergl

While the wingtips were clecoed to the wings, I pushed on the tips perpendicularly to their surface with my hand and easily caused them to bend (pop) inward. After reading about the weakness of the tips in the VAF forum, I decided that I would insert a foam rib to give them some strength.

I figured that about half way from wing connection to the outboard tip (of the wingtip) would be a good location. I drew a line on each side of the wingtip half the distance from the wing "end rib" to the tip of the wingtip with 3" spacing along the forward/aft direction of the wingtip. I'll have to measure the outside wingtip thickness at each 3" location on both sides and then subtract the 1/16" thicknesses of the fiberglass on both sides. I'll then average the resultant widths at each location and plot them on the foam to cut out the rib.

I'll need to order a new tool (outside caliper) from Amazon, it should be here by Friday!
