Brief Description: Started leveling HS on aft deck.
I went to Home Depot and bought two 48" spirit levels since I will need them anyway when I attach the wings. For now I'll use them for leveling the fuselage longitudinally and laterally. My digital level will be magnetically held to the long levels and will give 0.1 degree accuracy.
I clamped the HS onto the rear deck and then used an appromately 3/16" shim under the middle of the aft HS spar to get the longitudinal axis level after leveling the fuselage at the canopy rails. The fuselage rotating stands had to be shimmed on the garage floor and was time consuming. The lateral leveling of the HS front spar requires two shims under the spar and will be drilled with 3/16" holes into the longerons and into the deck on each side. Once the HS spars are leveled the drilling may commence. Easier said than done! The HS rear spar required about a 1/4" shim for longitudinal leveling. I'll drill tomorrow.
