Brief Description:  Panel lables and cowling work.

Today Charlotte climbed into the cockpit and started sticking on panel labels and placards. She made them with a Brother lable maker. She used white on clear tape to make the labels. It takes a steady hand and patience to apply stickies to the panel. She's doing a great job!

Meanwhile, I was trying to make the cowling fit with the new prop. After trimming the plenum and the cowl inlets, I managed to get the top cowl to drop in front of the plenum inlet lips. With 1/4" aft movement of the cowl from the spinner bulkhead, the plenum lips just fit over the top of the upper cowl inlet lips by about 1/4" as I pushed the cowl aft. But I had a problem making the top cowl flush with the spinner, until I discovered that some bolts on the spinner bulkhead were installed the wrong way and were holding the cowl 1/8" too high. I discovered this when I tried to rotate the prop and heard an awful scratching sound. When we reversed the bolts everything worked as planned, thank goodness.

We left the hangar as the temp approached 103 degrees and drinking the cool water that we brought with us.
