Brief Description:  Removed and replaced leaking brake fitting.

I stopped a leak on the copilot's side right master cylinder, lower fitting, by using some Teflon tape after trying sealant again with no luck. A few days later while working under the instrument panel I noticed the upper fitting of the same cylinder was leaking. I'm guessing that when the cylinder was made the holes were tapped with an imperfect tap which resulted in a bad thread in both holes. It really dosn't matter how or why as long as I can stop the leak. The Teflon tape on the fitting threads seems to be the answer.

After siphoning the brake fluid from the reservoir, I removed the fitting and added the Teflon tape and then retorqued it back into the cylinder. I then reinstalled the hose to the fitting and pushed brake fluid back into the system from the right brake port using the oil squirt can. After pumping all the air out and filling the reservoir again, I closed the port. I then jumped into the cockpit and pumped on the brake pedals to check for the squashy feeling that you get when there's still air in the system. The brakes were hard, so I set the parking brake to leave over night. So far, no leaks. I'll look for leaks in the morning.
