The last few days I have worked at cutting the sticks shorter to alleviate interference with the throttle and mixtrure controls. When I originally installed the sticks I cut them off 4" to install the Infinity grips. I had not yet installed the engine controls. When I finally got around to installing the throttle, prop, and mixture controls, I found that the sticks interfered with the throttle and mixture when full forward at left and right. I finally bit the bullet and cut them shorter about 1 1/4".
I had to remove all 16 pins from the CPC round connectors and unpot the bottom of the left stick to get the cable out of the stick in order to remove the Infinity grip. The same with the right stick except it wasn't potted at the bottom. It was a royal pain in the you know where! It took 2 1/2 days of hangar time to complete the job. I'm pretty sure the DAR would have made me shorten them anyway. Nobody said it would be easy!!
Drilling holes in the right stick to make a slot to move the cable up. Allowed me to cut the stick.
Both sticks now shorter and don't interfere with the engine controls.
Stop drilling a ding in the wing which was filled with filler and then sanded.
