Today Charlotte removed the peel ply from the intersection fairing edges and started sanding for smoothness. She thought the peel ply had not worked as well as she thought it should, i.e., too much sanding needed.
I made two styrofoam plugs for the cowling inlets to help determine the location of the plenum duct positions for the upper cowling. One can't measure with the upper cowling in place, therefore, the plugs at least give a visual indication of how close the ducts are to the top side of the inlet on the upper cowling. I then made some 0.032 strips 1 13/16" wide to be bent into 90 degree angles of 1" x 3/4" for attaching the plenum to the baffles. The anles will be riveted to the fiberglass plenum on top and then #6 nutplates will be installed so that #6 screws through the baffles will hold the angles.
