Today we finished fitting the cowling. We inserted the camlocks on the sides and made some small sanding removals on the top cowl to make the split line gap just right. We were able to shift and move the cowling so that all the gaps look good at about 1/16".
Tomorrow I'll start on the lower bracket that holds the exhaust area rigid. It connects to the nose gear gusset with two bolts and the bottom of the FW lip flange with one bolt. There is a plate that fits over the slot and holds the exhaust area from flexing with two #8 screws that screw into nutplates in the bracket.
Of course, there is a lot of work to be done to fill in all the pinholes with epoxy and sand, sand, sand, etc. I'll accomplish this when I work on the wheel pants. The inlets will require some work to accomadate the baffles and ramps, but the fitting is finished for now.
