Brief Description:  Installed ELT remote controls.

The remote controls for the ELT were installed today. This required pulling the telephone type flat wire from the panel, down the firewall, under the boost pump, through the spar carry through, up the tunnel through the aft baggage bulkhead, and to the ELT. The control panel cutout was accomplished using drill bits, unibit, saber saw, and files. Nothing too difficult just time consuming. Charlotte helped with the wire pulling while I lay on my stomach in the airplane trying to get my hands to the carry-through wire holes. Oh, yes, I had to buy another crimper to crimp the phone type plug back to replace the one that I cut off to pull the wire!

The remote has an "on" button, a reset button, a light, and a buzzer. We checked the light and buzzer by turning on the On switch at the ELT. It worked with a green light and buzzer sound. We don't have the radio hooked up yet so we could not check for the 121.5 mhz swept tone.
