I realy thought this would be the last entry for this door modification but as it turns out, I want to remove the door and touch up the paint. Also, I have a slight issue with the upper hinge half. I was cheap and used two pieces spliced together since I didnt have a single piece long enough and didnt think it necessary to buy more just for this. I had a good fit but when I rivited it to the door, it got buckled some and a corner sticks up enough to possibly snag on baggage. Ill need to drill out 3 rivits and file a slight gap and re rivit. Oh well.....
today i cut a notch in the door so it will clear the brace that bulkhead to the firewall. This required numerous iterations of removing door, filing and sanding, reinstal, mark, remove, file again and so on. I have a good fit now and door operates smoothly. This notch took me about twice as long as I figured it would.
