Trace the the template on to the belly skin under the left aft seat foor well just behind the center section. I tried to make sure it was not going to be in the way of the aileron push tube or with the footwell when installed and also away from the wing attach bolts. Drilled the mounting holes and reamer to 3/16 drilled the coax connect hole to 11/16 with unibit deburr and sanded away primer around each mounting hole and installed the antenna and the doubler with clecoes. I need to get the cable made and positioned and then might remove antenna until the fuse is up on the legs.
Cut out a doubler for the xpdr antenna from some 032 scrap aluminum. Im not certain this is realy necessary but I se that many other have done so.
I also removed the panel access door and drilled out 3 rivits, bent hing back some and filed for a slight gap, and reinstalled the hinge portion. Repainted with the 7220 primer and then put door back on.
