Brief Description:  Rudder and brake pedals 2

1. Marked and drilled the rear seat rudder pedalsband rod ends for 2 dash 9 rivits each then squeezed the assembly. Had some trouble squeezing cleanly and had to drill out a rivit 3 different times before getting them right.

2. Drilled out 2 plate nuts that were blocking a clean drill path through the fuselage center bulkhead and then drilled the required holes for the ruddercable s pass through. Inserted the snap bushings and fished the cables through.

3. Installed the brake pedals and master cylinders. One of my brake cylinders did not line up correctly. The reason was that it was not machined with the proper depth in the slit at bottom and would not drop down on the bracket far enough to line up the holes. Rather than drill on the cylinder, I took some material off the mounting ear until it lined up. It was a pain too! I probably should of just sent it in for a replacement but it fits now and I didnt need to take off too much metal.

4. Finished mounting on the cylinders and then checking for even alignments and free unbinding travel/operation.

5. Preparred the 6 release mech. spacers and 2 lift plates and then rivited together with 2 AN470ad 4-11 rivits.

6. Fabricated a lock pin as shown on dwg 81 and then pushed a roll pin through using the techniques suggested in plans.I then installed the release mechanism and lock pin onto the rudder slide.

7. Fabricated the handle for the release cable and also fabricated the cable ferrel. Pressed the ferrell in the rudder socket with c clamp, ran cable through and then through the hole in handle. Notted the cable and pulled into the handle and primered.
