Brief Description: Baffle-2. The oil cooler bracket
Spent considerable time figuring out how to place the oil cooler doubler for match drilling the rear baffle and the side baffle flange. Once I think I had reasonable understanding of where it should go, I started the drilling for rivits, The far left side you can see that the rivits are not in the center of the flange but more to the bend radius. This was deliberate and appears to be as per plan. This position keeps the oil cooler opening un ubstructed by the fange and also leaves a bit of an edge for attaching some rubber baffle seal to the side. I then removed and added the rear baffle and match drilled it with the other two and clecoed. I did all the rivit holes as well as the plate nut bolt holes all the way around. Added the oil cooler upper brace and match drilled it. I relieved some areas around the #4 cylender baffle until it fit and then secured to the cyleder and test fit with the oil cooler aft bracket. Looks OK Traced the cut out in the FF709 doubler and will cut out tomorrow. The Plans didnt describe going the way Ive described but I couldnt figure out how to do it by folling their instruction. I just did what I thought would get it done. Seems ok so far. Brenda did some edge polish work for me on several pieces.
Fitting left side of FF709 to the #4 cylender baffle flange and drilling
The rivit holes are meant to be closer to bend radius instead of centered on the flange
Traced the cut out area with the doubler clecoed in position.
