Brief Description:  Checked Low Fuel Warning Lights

The aircraft was still in the level attitude. After the unusable fuel in each tank was determined, Walt Halloran began pouring fuel into the left tank. I watched the panel to see when the Fuel Guardian low fuel light would go out. Walt ended up pouring the entire five gallons into the left tank, the low fuel light never went out. However, the right low fuel light had gone out at some point during the refueling. Apparently, the wires had been crossed for the tanks.

Knowing this, Walt added fuel to the left tank and I watched the low fuel light to see when it would go out. Shortly before the second gallon had been added, the light went out. Both low fuel sensors were installed at the same height in the inboard tank ribs, so I feel confident in that the light will come on in each tank when there is slightly less than three gallons.
