Brief Description:  Sanded Canopy Fairing/Made Template over Fairing

The patches on the canopy fairing were sanded. A paper template was made for the left side of the fairing.

The center area was the narrowest point of the fairing. Using the rivet holes for reference, marks were made on the fairing at 5 1/4" from the holes along the aft side of the fairing. Lines were run along the fairing using thin tape and then visually checking the alignment of the tape. Painter's tape was laid on the inside arc of the thin tape. The paper was laid on the fairing and held in place with clecoes. The aft edge of the paper was marked using the painter's tape edging. The paper was then trimmed along the aft edge. The forward edge was marked using the rivet holes again as a reference. A constant line was marked for the front edge of the fairing. Painter's tape was placed on the edges to strengthen the paper for marking the fiberglass.
